The U.S. Public Policy Council of ACM (USACM) is chartered as the focal point for ACM's interaction with U.S. government organizations, the computing community, and the U.S. public in all matters of U.S. public policy related to information technology.

We Robot: Program Committee

Robotics seems increasingly likely to become a transformative technology. This conference builds on existing scholarship exploring the role of robotics to examine how the increasing sophistication of robots and their widespread deployment everywhere from the home, to hospitals, to public spaces, and even to the battlefield disrupts existing legal regimes or requires rethinking of various policy issues. 

STGlobal: Faculty Advisory Committee

The STGlobal Consortium is a group of universities with students interested in science & technology studies (STS), science & technology policy (STP), and other related topics.Each year, graduate students from the member schools organize a graduate student-centered international conference in Washington, DC. The conference provides students with an opportunity to present their original research within a supportive community, gather critical feedback on works-in-progress, network with students in related fields, and attend professional development lectures.

Since 2012, Anonos has been developing technology that transforms data at the data element level enabling dynamic data obscurity that preserves the value of underlying data. Specifically, Anonos de-identification and dynamic data obscurity risk management tools provide trusted party control for data subjects enabling them to share information in a controlled manner to receive information, services and offerings truly personalized for them, while protecting misuse of their data.

A partnership with Microsoft Technology Policy Group, the Robotics Policy Consortium is a group of faculty members and institutions developing models for the responsible implementation of intelligent systems. The aim of the collaboration is to coordinate concurrent efforts to raise larger awareness of the important issues robotics and AI pose in the near term.

eCSite: Engaging Computer Science in Traditional Education: Fellow

 

Rather than seeking to draw students into computing courses in school, eCSite to brings computing into the courses that students are already taking. Because computing has become so important in so many fields, importing a meaningful exposure to computing into students’ studies in other fields can be done without compromising existing learning goals.
